Self-assembly of Tb(III) coordination polymer from imidazole-dicarboxylate ligand accompanied by in situ ligand formation DaiYu-Mei LiuMeng-Jia 2020 <p>A new metal-organic framework, {[Tb(O-IDC)(O-HIDC)] (H2O)}n(<b>1</b>), (O-H3IDC = 2-(pyridine-N-oxide-2-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid) has been constructed through hydrothermal reaction using 2-(pyridine-2-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate(H2IDC) and Tb(NO3)3•6H2O. During the reaction, O-H2IDC resulted from the in situ oxidation reaction of H2IDC. The compound <b>1</b> has been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, the Powder Diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound <b>1</b> crystallizes in monoclinic space group <i>P</i>21<i>/c</i> with <i>a</i> = 15.116(3), <i>b</i> = 10.641(2), <i>c</i> = 13.398(3) Å, <i>β</i> = 92.057(4) °, <i>V</i> = 2153.8(8) Å3, <i>Dc</i> = 2.073 g/cm3, <i>Mr</i> = 672.28, <i>F</i>(000) = 1312, <i>Z</i> = 4, <i>R</i> = 0.0373 and <i>wR</i> = 0.0964. Compound <b>1</b> displays an infinite 1 D chain structure. Moreover, through intermolecular hydrogen bonds, these 1 D chains extend into a 3 D supramolecular framework. Furthermore, the solid-state luminescent properties have also been investigated. (CCDC 1856803)</p>
