Synthesis and characterization of diiron propanedithiolate complexes with monosubstituted tris(2-furyl)phosphine or n-propyldiphenylphosphine

Two monosubstituted diiron complexes, namely (µ-SCH2CH2CH2S-µ)Fe2(CO)5L (L = P(2-C4H3O)3, 2; Ph2PCH2CH2CH3, 3), have been prepared by the carbonyl substitution of the parent complex (µ-SCH2CH2CH2S-µ)Fe2(CO)6 (1) with the corresponding monophosphine ligands in the presence of Me3NO·2H2O. The new complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
