Two new macrosporin dimers (12) along with four known compounds (36) were isolated from the extracts of the fungal strain Alternaria sp. XZSBG-1 from the sediment of the salt lake in the Bange, Tibetan, China. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods, mainly by 2D NMR spectra. Compounds 1 and 2 are new macrosporin dimers with symmetric chemical structures. In the cytotoxicity assay and inhibited alpha-glucosidase activity assay, all these compounds showed no notable inhibitory activity.
